Solo Exhibition ‘Natures Call’

Nature’s Call

I Am the Water, the Sun and the Sea

I Am the Breath, the Air and the Breeze

I Am the Body, the Land and the Trees

I Am the Fire, the Spark that Sees

I Am the Nature, the Nature of All

I Am the Nature, the Nature that Calls

I am driven by my love of this incredible planet we inhabit and a hope that we will all start taking the steps required in restoring our home. This work captures moments from the wonders of nature that I encounter daily, and it brings me great joy to share them with you.

As my way of giving back to the planet, I will plant ten trees through TreeSister for every sale I make.

Manorvale Primary School Artist in Residence

I am currently an Artist in Residence at MPS and have spent a day  each week in term three creating tiles for ‘The Werribee River ceramic art project”.  A massive undertaking working with art Teacher Sarah Metzner in  collaboration and with 200 Grade 1- 4 students. We source inspiration for its imagery from the indigenous culture, flora, and fauna along the Werribee River. It also reference aspects of the history of settlement along the Werribee River.

Armadale Primary School – Victorian Tile Project

I’ve been  working at APS  working with students creating tiles to go on a brick wall garden bed. The students have been studying Victorian Botanical drawings and this is what will inspire the decoration on the  tiles. The tiles are yet to be fired and will be installed in fourth term.

Term Three Creative Clay Classes at Gasworks

Term three was so much fun with lots of wonderful creations being made. Here is a selection of students work since the classes started.

The Song Room –  Tree of Life

I have been working with The Song Room, St Joseph’s Primary School and film maker Daniel Higgins in creating a ceramic mural with Year 5 / 6 students. Over seven days visiting the school once a week the tree grew from the stories and pictures the students told and drew. The students voted on which tree we would make and I made a nearly three meter paper plan as I scaled up the winning image. Over the coming weeks we worked with the clay and made our wonderful colourful tree.

Home Sweet Home

In the forest of my home

I never ever felt alone

Until they cut all the trees

And stole the whispers of the breeze

In this absent landscape frame

There’s no longer any rain

In my heart I feel the cost

My forest home our greatest loss

 Wladyslaw Dutkiewicz  Exhibition
