The finished work has been installed in the ‘Portal’ outside the ceramic studio and on the Painting studio wall at Gasworks Arts Park, Pickles Street entrance until February 2021. It’s titled ‘Home’-I am bring awareness to the myriad of creatures that call Gasworks Arts Park home through a collection of images captured over the time as a resident artist in the park.

The Thread Podcast

I was interview by the wonderful Teresa Corso and Kathryn Farrell for The Thread Podcast about my life, art and TreeSisters. It is only a Facebook Link  at present and as soon as it is up on YouTube I will let you know.

Collage

Using this covid time when I can’t be at the studio making a collage to go in the Portal exhibition space at Gasworks Arts Park. Really enjoying being creative using my photos in a different way. These are all images taken of the creatures that visit and call the park home.

What Have You Got To Lose.

Very happy to be one of the artist asked to participate in the exhibition. Launched on Sunday 15th by Senator Janet Rice and Vicki Perrett, ‘What Have You Got to Lose is an extraordinary exhibition of work by women artists addressing vulnerability and the threat of extinction’. Live music from the wonderful Sarah Carroll and organized by the brilliant Janine McGinness. Sounds like it was a great opening unfortunately I couldn’t attend and its on until March 28th.

Seven Sisters Festival

I had a wonderful time at the Seven Sisters Festival although unfortunately the head of TreeSisters Australia could not make it at the last minute so I stepped in to run it. As an artist giving my gifts on behalf of  TreeSisters we had part of the ‘Tree is Life” installation and our Green Hearts of which 30 found homes which means approximately 750 trees will be funded. I also made some great contacts which hopefully lead to more opportunities for our project. I got to hang out with some awesome treesisters and am very grateful for all their help.

 Montsalvat Artisan Market

We took The Flowering Heart Project “Tree is Life” to the Montsalvat Shop Artisan Market during their Summers End Festival. Karen Hopkins one of our artists joined me and we had a wonderful time talking to people about our traveling art installation and TreeSisters. Twelve green hearts found homes which means around 300 trees were funded. I also decided to make some red hearts for the event and sales of those from the night go to the Victorian Bushfire appeal. It was a special night which was topped off by a movie under the stars.

Earth ♡ART

Earth ♡ART~ creativity with clay in a sacred way.  I ran the first workshop at ‘The Sacred Nest’ in Ascot Vale. Unfortunately I had a few last minute cancellations but still ran it with a couple of people and I received great feedback.

The Flowering Heart ‘Tree is Life’

On January 7th 2020 I spent  the day creating a new work for The Flowering Heart Project’s collaborative traveling art installation ‘Tree is Life’ in aid of TreeSisters: women seeding change with fellow TreeSister artists Tessa Wylde, Xenica Douglas, Karen Hopkins Art and Deborah Punton who will join us for our next session. This work explores the impact the trees we are planting through TreeSisters funding partners has on the tropical areas we are restoring.

Cockatoo Commission

I was commissioned to create a ‘Parliament’ of Cockatoos for a client which were to be gifted for Christmas presents in 2019. I so enjoyed creating each character which were specifically designed for the recipients. It was reported back to me that they were described as stunning, beautiful and were received with much laughter and will be treasured. I am very happy to have executed my brief and brought such precious gifts into the world. Thank you Loz Visser for the opportunity.
